A 12-day National Integration Camp is being organised by National Cadet Corps from December 13 to 24 under the aegis of NCC Directorate of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh.

The camp will also aim to instil values of leadership, discipline, honesty, integrity, adventure and espirit-de-corps amongst the cadets which will inculcate sense of communal and religious harmony in the cadets.

Earlier, such camps were conducted in Rohtak, Nangal and Amritsar. This year, the national-level camp had been shifted from Amritsar to Shimla wherein 500 NCC boys and girls cadets from 17 NCC Directorates from all over India would participate, an official statement said yesterday.

The NCC Directorate of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh in collaboration with various Departments of state governments is also making an endeavour to promote tourism in Himachal Pradesh and unfold the beauty of capital city Shimla.

Lt General P S Bhalla, VSM, Director General of NCC (DG NCC) had conveyed his blessings and best wishes on the occasion and also urged all the participants to make the best use of this national camp to showcase solidarity.

The twelve-day camp would be utilised in promoting tourism by organising excursion visits for the visiting cadets, share of culture ethos and focus on National issues of various States through cultural programmes, debates and competitions.
