Singer Sinead O’Connor is getting married for the fourth time today to her boyfriend Barry Herridge.
Irish singer and songwriter Sinead O’Connor is getting married for the fourth time today to her boyfriend Barry Herridge. The special occasion also marks O’Connor’s forty-fifth birthday. Talking about her forthcoming walk down the aisle, the Nothing Compares 2U singer made the official announcement on her website.
"With enormous joy myself and my beloved boyfriend Barry Herridge will be getting married tomorrow, December 8th 2011 at 'an un-disclosed location' in my absolute dream wedding ceremony," she wrote the announcement on her official website. She added, "[I am a] very happy girl."
O'Connor has since disclosed that she will be marrying in Vegas, per the Huffington Post. "I've been married before, but I've never had my dream wedding in Vegas. I wanted to do it there because it's casual, quick, not religious and, most of all, very romantic."
Previous to this latest marriage news, O'Connor had tied the knot with her long-time friend and collaborator Steve Cooney on the 22nd of July 2010, but ended up divorcing him in less than a year in April 2011.
It is not clear how long O'Connor has been dating her soon to be husband, but some reports indicate that the two have been together since this past August. Just months ago the singer spoke about having no current love interests and made the unsurprising announcement that she was frustrated on her blog.
"I am in the peak of my sexual prime and way too lovely to be living like a nun. and it's VERY depressing.”
Previously declaring herself a lesbian, O'Connor reportedly was in the market months ago on Twitter as well. She was said to have been “looking for a sex partner", and posted messages about "going to heaven", making some nervous after past suicide attempts. Shortly after she met Herridge, who was a fan of the singer's, and the two fell in love.
Aside from Sinead O'Connor’s marriage news, the artist is also releasing a new album How About I Be Me And You Be You this coming February 2012
